The Quiet Strength of Resilience with Ron Schwarz

About this event
Join us on Thursday, April 24 (Yom HaShoah) at 6:00 PM in the Kimball Junction Branch auditorium for this special author event with second generation Holocaust survivor Ron Schwarz.
Park City resident Ron Schwarz is the son of Holocaust survivor Charles Schwarz. As a boy, Charles lived in Nazi Germany before fleeing to France and hiding there for 3 1/2 years as an adolescent. He witnessed the German occupation of France, and completed the treacherous mountain crossing of the French-Swiss border at the end of 1942. Ron's grandparents endured the Nazis in Germany, including internment at Dachau and the seizing of their personal property. As a second generation speaker, Ron uses a multimedia presentation to share his father's and grandparents' daring journey, as well as his exploration of archives and libraries across Europe to piece together their story. Ron has recently published his family's story in a book titled The Quiet Strength of Resilience. There will be a Q&A and book signing following the presentation.
Registration for this event in encouraged, and seating will be on a first come, first served basis.
