Sunday Hours
Thank you for your interest in our Sunday Hours Pilot Program at the Kimball Junction Branch. The program ran from March-April 2023.
Sunday Hours Frequently Asked Questions
Will you be open on any more Sundays?
No, the pilot program ended on April 30, 2023. The Library requested funding for Sunday hours in 2020, 2022, 2023 and 2024, but funding was not granted. We know this is a service many community members would utilize if available. If you would like to see Sunday hours become a permanent program, please take the time to email the Summit County Council at countycouncil@summitcounty.org or make a public comment in one of their meetings. Thank you for your support.
Why are you only opening on Sundays in March and April, 2023?
The Library's staffing levels are not currently funded for Sunday hours. In order to open on Sundays in March and April, we will be utilizing temporary employees or employees working extra hours they normally would not be expected to work. We hope this program will provide valuable data we can use to create a case for decision makers in Summit County to provide future funding for Library Sunday Hours.
How did you select the hours of 10:00 AM to 2:00 PM?
Our patrons are used to us opening at 10:00 AM. We open at that time all other days of the week. Our Coalville and Kamas Valley Branches are open from 10:00 AM to 2:00 PM on Saturdays, so we feel this is a schedule our patrons are used to following. The Park City Library (1255 Park Ave., Park City) is open on Sundays from 1:00-5:00 PM, so we also feel our hours will extend the opportunity for community members to have access to library services on Sundays.
