Book to Film Club (The Man Who Knew Infinity)
This Zoom meeting replaces our originally scheduled screening on Thursday, September 8 that we had to cancel. We now plan to watch The Man Who Knew Infinity (114 minutes, Rated PG-13) on our own through Kanopy and will have a discussion about the book and film over Zoom. If you would like to participate, please sign up for the event and you will be sent the Zoom meeting details.
The film is based on the book The Man Who Knew Infinity: A Life of the Genius Ramanujan by Robert Kanigel. The audiobook is always available on Libby and the ebook and book are also available to check out.
Synopsis: In 1913, a young, unschooled Indian clerk named Srinivasa Ramanujan wrote a letter to G. H. Hardy, begging that pre-eminent English mathematician's opinion on several ideas he had about numbers. Hardy, realizing the letter was the work of a genius, arranged for Ramanujan to come to England. Thus began one of the most remarkable collaborations ever chronicled.
