November – Election Integrity is on the 2024 Ballot

Contents:

1. Eve Furse, the Summit County Clerk, who is responsible for all elections in our county will educate us about the Electoral infrastructure in place to ensure free and fair elections. Eve has committed to work with me to develop the materials for this session. She and the roughly 3000 other County Clerks in the United States are the first line of defense in assuring election integrity.

2. We will look at efforts by both parties to make changes to the election mechanics that may, in some cases, tilt the balance of power in their favor.

3. We will look at non-partisan ideas that may facilitate greater citizen engagement in elections, like ranked-choice, citizen initiatives and referendums.
